Daywise Tour Itinerary

On arrival at Dibrugarh, receive assistance and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, explore the local markets and soak in the vibrant culture of Assam’s tea city.

After breakfast, drive to Mon (180 km), the land of the fascinating Konyak tribe, known for their feathered headgear, tattooed faces, and warrior traditions. En route, stop at Wakching village to witness authentic tribal life

Today, visit Shangnyu village, ruled by the Chief Angh. Explore the ancient wooden monument (8 ft high & 12 ft wide), believed to be crafted by heavenly beings, with carvings of humans and animals. Later, visit Mon village to meet the tattooed Konyaks, followed by an excursion to Chui village, where you can see the Angh’s traditional mansion with its unique palm-leaf roofing and giant wooden pillars. En route, stop at Langmeing to see headhunting relics and trophies. Return to Mon by evening.

Embark on a full-day excursion to Longwa village (45 km), one of the largest in Mon district. This unique village lies right on the India–Myanmar border, with the Angh’s house straddling both countries. Despite the international divide, the entire village is governed by the Angh and village council. Experience the distinct lifestyle of the Konyak tribe before returning to Mon.

Drive to Mokokchung (208 km), the cultural heartland of the Ao tribe. In the evening, visit Ungma village, the oldest and largest Ao settlement, offering deep insights into Ao traditions, folklore, and way of life.

Post breakfast, head to Touphema (120 km), stopping en route at Longkhum village, famed for its exquisite handloom and handicrafts. According to Ao legend, Longkhum is where spirits rest before their onward journey to paradise – and one visit is never enough. Later, check in at the Touphema Tourist Village, a community-run initiative showcasing Angami culture.

After breakfast, drive to Kohima (45 km), the capital of Nagaland. Visit Kohima village (Bara Basti) with its iconic buffalo horn gates symbolizing bravery, the World War II Cemetery, the State Museum, and the bustling local markets. Afternoon free to explore nearby Angami villages.

Take a short drive (20 km) to Khonoma village, known for its fierce warrior history and innovative conservation practices like alder-based farming. After lunch, explore more Angami tribal villages such as Viswema, Jakhama, Kigwema, and Phesama, each rich in tradition and culture.

In the morning, drive to Dimapur (70 km) for your return flight. Your journey into the heart of Nagaland’s tribal culture concludes with unforgettable experiences.
